Social Dimensions of Climate Adaptation

2 juni kl. 12:30 - 16:00

Event Description (English)

Climate adaptation increasingly shapes cities, coastlines, and everyday life. At the same time, climate risks and adaptation measures often affect social groups unevenly, raising questions of justice, vulnerability, and inclusion.

This mini-conference focuses on the social dimensions of climate adaptation, bringing together current research and municipal practice. Presentations address topics such as social vulnerability, participatory approaches, inclusion of underrepresented groups in decision-making and design processes, and pathways towards more socially just and transformative climate adaptation.

The event aims to foster dialogue between research and practice and to support knowledge exchange across sectors and governance levels. The first session will be held in Danish and the second in English. The conference is hosted by DNNK (Det Nationale Netværk for Klimatilpasning) and Regions4Climate – a Horizon Europe project aiming to create socially just and resilient regions across Europe. The Danish Regions4Climate partners are University of Copenhagen, The Danish Coastal Authority and VIA University College.
